There's a great song by one of my favorite bands and one of the lines is,"you don't have to guess what I'm against, if you know what I'm for."
I'm sitting here watching Wy climb under our furniture and rip a book to shreds. While the inner neat freak in me is yelling to pick it up - I'm not. I'm sitting here watching my son laugh hysterically at himself tear this book up. If that makes him happy that makes me happy. I feel like we can learn so much from children.
I know if someone showed me a picture of what my life would be today, 3 years ago I don't think I would believe them. Having children truly opens your heart, eyes and mind.
I've seen a couple things around the Internet that I think are a little disturbing. How crunchy are you? ( take our quiz!) mommy wars, food wars who can out crunch who more. I don't think parenting should be a competition. People love to judge but at the end of the day I think we're all doing the best we know.
I figured since this is a new blog and I started right where the old one took off, I'll rewind a bit and fill you in on some of the things I'm for. For those who don't know.
Messy living rooms. I would much rather play with Wy then keep his toys in their bin.
Attachment parenting. I think Wy is an equal. I love that we all are in tune with each other.
Extended breastfeeding.
Peaceful parenting. I think yelling, or hitting wont result in anything but anger. Both in you and your children.
Babywearing. Wear that baby! You can not spoil a baby.
Healthy eating habits. I believe healthy eating is a lifestyle, not a diet. Good health begins and ends with what you put in your body.
Vaccine information. Do your research. Be informed.
Homeopath>conventional
These are all things I will talk, rant and rave about. I'm always open to discussion but not debates. I do not feel like I need to defend myself to anyone who's answer is "because my doctor said so."

Fat Tuesday and diaper balm.
Fat Tuesday, need I say more? King Cake, festivals, beads, hurricanes. None of which we have indulged in. What great Louisiana residents we are.
Wy and I have been fighting thrush for about 6 months. We ditched all medicine and have taken a completely natural approach. Hello 50billion live culture probiotics, yeast detox, sugar elimination and we are finally seeing progress! Well then Wy got a yeast rash in his diapers. Talk about fun! Stripping, bleaching, grapefruit seed oiling. As part of our toxin free 2013 I made our own diaper balm. It is pretty close to amazing and cleared up his rash faster than anything I've tried.
1/4C coconut oil
1/4C olive oil
2TBSP beeswax (I grated mine)
4 drops melaleuca 2 drops lavender 2 drops lemon.
Put your oils and beeswax in a double boiler over med-low heat and melt.
Drop oils into one 4oz jar and pour in oils. Let it sit, harden and bam! Balm.
I also made an antifungal wipe solution of distilled water, thyme EO, lavender EO and lemon EO. ( I try not to use to much melaleuca oil I can't stand the smell) thyme is a hot oil so use with caution.
This combination is the only one that seems to of really helped.

Blenders, tornados, and runny noses. Oh my.
We drink smoothies every day. Sometimes twice a day if we're feeling adventurous. Sometimes with protien powder sometimes with spinach maybe even kale. Almost always with chocolate. Sometimes Wy even has a few sips. We have (had) a kitchenaid blender and well, it just hasn't been cutting it lately. We've (I) have been subtly talking about getting a blendtec and well today was my lucky day. We got a gift card plus 20% off coupon and that baby is on its way to our home as we speak! I am super excited!! I can't wait to blend up!
We have been having some crazy weather here lately and by crazy I mean 30 degrees one day, 65 the next two back down to 40s throw in a tornado watch for 6 hours crazy rain storm and welcome to Louisiana! So needless to say Wy has gotten the worst runny one day stuffy the next nose. I've been pumping up the VitC, tea and Wys getting elderberry plus a humidifier with peppermint and some eucalyptus rub. So much better than all of the medicine crap doctors throw at you. We also have him seeing a chiro and that really helps when his ears start to bother him.
--Have I ever mentioned how much I love essential oils. Especially my doTERRA oils. I have tried a few different brands but so far these I love the most. --
As some of you know, we got "fired" from our pediatricians office. We really loved Wys doctor but we ran into a serious difference of opinion. We did not *gasp* get Wys 6 month vaccinations. I know a lot of people seem to have an issue with this and to those people I would like to say, do your research. Do not come at us with "doctors know best!" as your reason for "why we are wrong". If your doctor told you he was going to inject formaldehyde, mercury and diploid cells in you, you would would hold the phone! Why do you not give the same respect to your children? Because yeah, that's what is in the shots people. I'm not for, against, upside down or sideways about vaccinations I believe everyone has the right to make that choice for their children but I think you are ignorant if you do not do your research. I'll admit, when Wy was little we ended up at the doctor and hospital more times than I would like to admit ( major over-reactions) for... thrush and reflux. Yes, this my friends is the only illness my child has had. Still scared he's going to get your kid sick?
Basically the point of my last rant, is before you judge someone who is "different" than you, ask them, do some research. Maybe you will find out they are not as crazy as you think.

ramble shamble
I managed to lock myself out of my old blog so here I am, with a new one!
I suppose a few updates would be a good place to start.
-it's been about 6 months since I last blogged.
-Wy is almost 7 months old!
-breastfeeding is going great
-we are moving this summer!
-we are still Paleo, and I have eliminated eggs too.
-Wy is crawling all over the place and our house has turned into one big jungle gym. and we love it.
-Martini looks like a lion and I'm tempted to yell "Simbaaaaa" every time I see her.
-I will probably lock myself out of this blog again in 6 months.
-STILL NO TEETH!
-I may or may not of ordered close to 20 boxes of girl scout cookies.
Ok lame...not to many updates.
I guess the way we've decided to raise Wy is raising a lot of eyebrowns. I stopped caring right around the same time I started. Which was never. If I seem more outspoken in this blog than I was in the old one, its because I am. If I can open just one persons mind to something other than the cookie-cutter way, I think its worth it.
I'll leave this short and sweet, and with a few pictures.
